A Machesney Park Goodwill employee went a two-year search to find the family that inadvertently donated 10,000 in silver coins.

The silver coins, that are no longer in circulation, were found in a hollowed out book.

The find prompted Goodwill Northern Illinois Finance Director Naomi Miller to search for the rightful owner of the coins.

What ensued was a two-year search that eventually ended with the help of a Chase Bank employee who "helped track down the trust account for the individual, which led Miller to a relative." according to Patch.com.

The coins were returned to the family. Miller told WREX, "This story ended on a high note for the whole Goodwill organization, and we couldn't be happier."
