Ogle County’s First Brewery Is Officially Open for Business
We've been waiting for this day for months, and it's finally here...Hairy Cow Brewing Company in Byron is officially open just in time for Christmas!
Hairy Cow Brewing Company is located along the banks of the Rock River at 450 E Blackhawk Dr. in Byron, and they have big plans to make the entire Stateline fall in love with them!
According to their Facebook page;
We have a vision. Our vision is a brewpub as a hub of activity in Byron - A community gathering place where you can meet with friends, family, and business associates, enjoy delicious craft beer and pizza from the patio overlooking the riverfront, or enjoy the view while seated around the taproom fireplace. A place where you can dock your boat and enjoy time with loved-ones around the outdoor fire-pit.We want Hairy Cow Brewing Company to be an integral part of the community. The recreation path that runs throughout Byron also runs through our backyard, along the river, and we plan to take advantage of it by hosting running, cycling and endurance events. We will also provide a venue for local musicians and artists, and host seasonal events such as Octoberfest and, of course, a bacon & beer festival! The long-running Sunshine Farmers Market will remain on the HCB grounds.
Although I do love that vision, I'd be lying if I said that they didn't already have me sold on the 22 beers in their taproom , and the signature mixed drinks and brick oven pizza on their menu.
Hairy Cow Brewing Company is open Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to Midnight and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
