Chicago's O'Hare airport is close to finalizing the deal that will certainly test the theory of bigger always being better.

The $8.5 billion deal the airport is the final stages of making with the airlines would nearly double O'Hare's size. According to wgntv.com, plans also include a new global terminal including several new concourses and gates. Fewer delays and eased gridlock is the goal with this expansion.

This would be O'Hare's most expensive renovation in the airports history. Terminal 2 would be demolished to make room for the expansion. While we don't know WHEN the project will begin, we do know how long it will take once it starts. The project would take 8 years to complete.
