The votes are in; the people of Illinois have spoken and we now know who we're going to be voting for this coming November.

On the ballot will be all sorts of important people and things to be voting on- governor, hopefully the legalization of recreational marijuana and maybe this...a state dog?

Probably not necessary, but according to CNN, Ohio is considering naming a state dog.

A proposed bill would name the the Labrador Retriever the state's official furry four-legged friend.

That would make 13 states total that have an official state dog if the bill passes. Should we make Illinois next? Or....should we focus on the legalization of marijuana and gun laws first?

If we did choose an official state dog, what should it be?
