Portillo’s Might Be Headed To Rockford

Big news for the Stateline today, rumors are swirling that Portillo's Hot Dogs is coming right here to Rockford. A job posting on Career Builder suggests that the company is hiring employees in Rockford and that is making our mouths water.

MyStateline reports that no one has confirmed this for sure, but no one has denied it either. In fact, the spokesperson said we should all hear more next week.

When I lived in L.A., all of the displaced Midwesterners would drive two hours to the closest Portillo's, and anyone who's eaten there before knows why.

Since we heard the possible news, we've been dreaming about the perfect Portillo's foods in the ZOK studio.

What would I order? Cheese fries and a chocolate cake shake. Because there aren't a lot of places you can order a shake made of cake, but Portillo's is one of them.

Sweet Lenny says forget the shake, he wants a Maxwell Street Polish Sausage.

I think after we talked about it, we were both kind of depressed about the less exciting foods we had for lunch.
