This weekend kicks off the annual Pumpkin Fest at Lockwood Park in Rockford.

It's now officially October, so I can start thinking about Halloween. Here's an annual seasonal event that's fun for the whole family.

Pumpkin Fest at Lockwood Park starts this weekend.

Rockford Park District will host this event each Saturday and Sunday throughout the month. The address is 5201 Safford Road in Rockford. Hours are 11am - 4pm.

There are many free and low-cost activities including picking pumpkins, ride a pony, horseback riding, themed wagon ride, make s’mores by the bonfire, corn maze, the haunted corn crib, pumpkin painting, pumpkin toss, carnival rides, inflatables, daily entertainment, and more.

Plus, Lockwood Park has a working farm.

For more information, look HERE.

By the way, they will also be open on Columbus Day because the kids are off school.

Another awesome thing to do in Rockford.
