There is nothing worse than being alone during the holidays. When I moved to Iowa for my first job in radio, I couldn't afford to travel home for Thanksgiving, so my son and I spent it in our tiny apartment with a rotisserie chicken from Hyvee. It was pretty depressing.

One restaurant owner in Michigan is trying to ensure that people who find themselves under similar circumstances have somewhere to go if they're lonely for any reason. George, the owner of George's Senate Coney Island, placed this sign on the door of his restaurant.

This is something he does every year simply because it makes his "heart feel good to do it." He says dozens come every year and this year he's hoping that there will be more.  After a customer snapped this photo and shared in Reddit, George might get his wish now that the photo has gone viral; getting thousands of shares and comments from people all over the country.

What are your Thanksgiving plans?
