It's a scary concept to think about an active shooter situation at any school or business, however, it's something everyone should be prepared for. Many schools and universities hold active shooter drills so that students feel more comfortable should anything ever happen.

Rock Valley College has announced that they will be doing the same.

Rock Valley College Police are announcing to students and the public that they will be conducting an "active shooter" drill on Wednesday, April 17th.  According to RVC officials, the drill is scheduled to last approximately 45 minues, and will take place in the Health Sciences Center at approximately 10:45 a.m. The college says the drill will involve a large police presence on the main campus, simulated gunfire and simulated injuries, as well as text messages, phone alerts, and audio messages over the college's notification system.
