A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic, don't you think?

- Glen Ballard / Alanis Morissette

If an organization's effort is to build economic growth and announces financial misconduct within their walls it is indeed ironic. It's sad, but still ironic. This is exactly what has happened to Rockford Area Economic Development Council (RAEDC). Their mission, according to their website, is to "cultivate opportunities for primary job growth that increase the economic well-being of our region." Well, it turns out someone might not have had that same agenda in mind.

According to WREX,

A news release was sent out Friday afternoon with the announcement. RAEDC says the employee has been placed on unpaid administrative leave while the council conducts an investigation.

RAEDC says there will be no more details released in regards to the "suspected financial misconduct" and that this is an ongoing investigation and personnel issue.
