Rockford Park District Cancels Activities and Closes Facilities Due to Weather

The sudden change in weather has caused the Rockford Park District to close many of it's facilities and and activities on Thursday. before you venture out, check out the list.The Rockford park district attributes the closures due to hazardous weather conditions.

Snow Park at Alpine Hills will remain closed, due to lack of snow.

Facilities Closed tonight

• Riverview Ice House (Closing at 5 p.m.)
• Carlson Ice Arena  (Closing at 5 p.m.)
• Sapora Playworld (Closing at 5 p.m.)
• Nicholas Conservatory& Gardens (Closed at 3 p.m).
• UW Health Sports Factory (Closing at 4:30 p.m.)
• Washington Park Community Center (Closing at 6 p.m.)
• Indoor Sports Center at Mercyhealth Sportscore (Closing at 4 p.m)

Cancelled Activities:

• Rockford Volleyball practice
• Adult Basketball games
• Teen Evening program at Washington Community Center
• High School boys soccer game at ISC
• Lewis Lemon Community Center - all after school and teen evening program cancelled
