Rockton’s Painted Rocks Replace Pokemon as Most Searched for Item

Decorated rocks have been hidden all over this beautiful bedroom community for you to find. Find & share all over downtown Rockton and in the parks, never indoors.

No need to keep your smartphone in your hand to play Rockton Rocks. But keep it nearby because you'll need to share what you find.

Here's how the game works:

Decorated rocks are hidden in the Rockton area. They are hidden outside only.

Once a rock is found, you can either:

• Leave it there
• Hide it in a new location
• Or keep it for yourself and paint a new rock to hide.

When you find a rock, post a picture on the Rockton Rocks Facebook Page. This lets the artist know their creation was found. And make sure to use the hashtag: #RocktonRocks

Making & hiding your own rocks:

Painting Rocks

• You can look for rocks on your own property or purchase rocks at home improvement stores, arts and crafts stores, etc.
• Clean the rocks and let them dry
• Acrylic paint works best, you can also use Sharpie brand markers
• Seal your rocks with a product like Rustoleum Crystal Clear Enamel or a matte sealer like Krylon

Take a picture of your rocks and post it on the Rockton Rocks Facebook page. Hide them around town. Make sure to post a clue of where it can be found.

SPECIAL NOTE: Don’t hide rocks where others would have to climb or where someone could trip on them. Remember, many children will be rock hunting. Don’t throw rocks and remember to respect the property of others.
