For the 34th year in a row, mud volleyball is coming to the Rockford area.

Mud volleyball has become a staple in the Roscoe community for over 30 years as a fundraiser for the Epilepsy Foundation of North/Central Illinois, Iowa, & Nebraska.

This year is no different! The event will take place Saturday August 6 at Riverside park.

Registration will open on June 1. All players under the age of 18 will need a waiver to play, and according to the Roscoe Mud Volleyball Facebook page, the event is recommended for players age 16 and older.

I've been to this tournament a few times and we had a blast! Be prepared to end up soaked in mud!

A few things you might want to know before you get muddy.

  1. You might end up throwing away the clothes you wear, dress accordingly.
  2. Bring towels! Both for in between games and for the showers afterwards.
  3. DUCT tape. Duct tape is so very important. You will need to duct tape your shoes so they don't fall off and you might also want to duct tape your pants or shorts to keep them on. Seriously, it's a thing.
