This one hits home, literally. The occupants of Black Ford SUV are behind a scam that is alarming residents of a Rockford neighborhood. They could come to your house, next.

If you are not familiar with the website Nextdoor, it's a site you should get on right away. It's a social network site that keeps you in the know about what's going on in your local neighborhood. Your neighbors post information ranging finding a last-minute babysitters to information about of home break-ins.

In this case, information about the latter was posted on Thursday and it is alarming residents of Rockford on Chelsea (in the Highcrest area), nearby our radio station.

A local resident is warning residents about an incident that occurred on Thursday afternoon involving the occupants of a Black Ford SUV that say they are representing 'a fence company.' One individual knocked on the door of a residence on Chelsea and asked the homeowner to come outside to the back yard of the home, to assist in locating the lot line.

While the resident was in back, another occupant of SUV entered the resident's home and robbed the place. Here is how the incident was described by a neighbor.

Heed this important advice. If someone comes knocking at your door, and you don't know the person, DON'T ANSWER IT!

In all likelihood, these criminals are going from neighborhood to neighborhood in Northern Illinois, trying to pull off the same scam. If you come across these individuals, call the police.
