When my son turned 18 two years ago, he wanted to spend the day in Chicago. We stopped at your typical Chicago day trip sites like Navy Pier, Millennium Park, Giordano's, the Nike store and the Shedd Aquarium.

We'd never been to the Shedd before; so I really had no idea what to expect- especially the price tag. It was close to $159 for five of us to get in. We always talked about going back to see and do more, but that's a bit much for us.

If you said "same" then I suggest taking full advantage of Shedd's free admission days for the rest of September. Now, I know what you're thinking- well this stinks, the kids are back in school, but it just might be worth it to pull them out for a day. Heck, the whole classroom could go.

According to WGN, the Shedd Aquarium is offering free admission for 24 days in a row, starting tomorrow (Wednesday, September 6th); ending on September 30th.

Admission covers special exhibits, aquatic shows and the stingray touch sessions.

Jazzin' at the Shedd will also be free this month.
