"I bought you a ring, will you marry me?" "I'd love to, but I can't wear the ring... I work at Starbucks."

Earlier this year, Starbucks changed their dress code to allow tattoos and nose rings, which made a lot of employees pretty happy. Until, they heard they aren't supposed to wear other jewelry anymore.

Bracelets, watches, or you know engagement rings with stones.

What?

Yep. Starbucks is just saying no to rings with stones in them, for food safety reasons, according to their new dress code.

There are food safety rules we have to live by. Here’s the fine print - wearing a ring is okay if it’s a plain band, no stones. Unfortunately, no watches, bracelets or wristbands are allowed. Simple necklaces can be worn under your clothes.

According to an article by KOMONews, one Starbucks employee said, "I'm not stirring someone's drink with my ring."

People are NOT happy about this, for obvious reasons. Starbucks is allowing customers to wear wedding (or any kind of) stoneless band, but that's it.
