With the violence that has been happening in our country, there is nothing wrong with being concerned about security at big events such as Stroll On State.

Organizers WIFR there is an updated security plan in place but, as we're often hearing from authorities (be it national or in Rockford), attendees are asked to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings.

One vendor from Stroll On State suggests reporting thing we think the police need to know about.

"The thing that we have to do is protect each other. If you see something suspicious, report it right away to the authorities," says Lulu's Roasted Corn owner, Emilia Almonaci.

According to WIFR, RACVB President John Groh says there will be expanded security protocol in place but the details aren't being released to the public.

... there are also a lot of security measures going on behind the scenes that they can't disclose.

Last year Stroll On State was attended by more than 70,000 people and the number is expected to even more this year.
