Sunday’s Family Event in Rockton is Dedicated to Those Who Serve

The 3rd Annual 'Dedicated to Serve' celebration at Settler's Park is in honor of all who care for, serve, protect, and inspire others with their bravery.

This year's event is Sunday, May 15th from 1pm – 3pm in the parking in front of Rockton's Sanctuary Spa (175 Hawick St, Rockton, IL) and into Settler's Park.

Rockton Police Officers and Firefighters will be at Sunday's 'Dedicated To Serve' event featuring fire fighting & fire prevention demonstrations and bike safety inspections. Operation Support Our Troops will be collecting donations and selling t-shirts.

Other festivities include:

• National Anthem kickoff ceremony with Rockford Fire Chief Michelle Panko and Army Vet Judy Taylor
• Live DJ & Musical performance from Little Miss Whiskey
• Face painting
• Midway Village craft table for making cards for our local heroes
• Hula Hoop contest
• Tons of raffle prizes

There will also be several organizations & vendors on hand:

• Frybabies will be selling food, beverages and snacks
• Olive Oil Experience
• Talcott Library
• Rockton Lions Club are bringing their youngest Leader Dog in training
• Macktown Warriors football team registrations
• Macktown Lions Club accepting eyeglass donations (if you don't wear them anymore donate them)
