It's almost October, and soon all kinds of frightingly fun events will be starting in the Stateline area. We are lucky to have an awesome assortment of haunted houses, haunted hayrides and family-friendly Halloween events to choose from in Rockford, but one thing we don't have is a "Haunted Train of Terror"...we will have to drive a bit past the Illinois border for this particular brand of scary.

Edgerton, Wisconsin is home to a train ride that I have heard many say is "scary as Hell", so if nearly peeing your pants from fear is the way you like to spend your weekends in October, you need to put this on your Halloween to-do list this year.

The Haunted Train of Terror,  located at 51 E Cox Rd in Edgerton, will run from 3 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 3 to 9 p.m. on Sundays October 13-14, 20-21, and 27-28. From 3 to 6 p.m. each weekend the train features less ghouls and haunted happenings, so this is the ideal time for families with littles to board the train. After 6 p.m. though, all Hell breaks loose...seriously.

Your ticket to ride the Haunted Train of Terror is $8 for ages 8 and up; $5 ages 4-7; kids 3 and under are free.  Only cash is accepted, and seats usually fill it up fast. Get more information, and a discount coupon here.
