I love shopping on Black Friday. Like I LOVE it. You know what I don't love? Shopping on Thanksgiving.

And I'm pretty sure all of the people who work at retail stores don't love people shopping on Thanksgiving either. They probably don't love Black Friday, too... at least that isn't on a major American holiday.

Sorry, I'm getting off my mini soapbox. I will still be shopping on Friday morning, but I won't be the first one in line, especially not at Target, because Target will be opening at 6p.m. on Thanksgiving night.

So basically, all the Target employees will be eating turkey at noon and then swapping their Thanksgiving pants for khakis and suiting up to head in.

Toys R Us, Kmart and J.C. Penney will all also be open unnecessarily early on Thursday, with Nordstrom and Costco waiting until the next day to open their doors.

I can't imagine the amount of shoppers increases too much just by opening 10 hours earlier. But maybe I'm wrong. Either way I will be setting my alarms for 4 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving, not 5 p.m. after eating dinner.
