When you're from Minneapolis, home to Target, it's not uncommon to work for a Target store while you're in high school and then move on to a career at their corporate offices; in fact, it was kind of a coveted career path for the last of the generation x-ers.

Unfortunately, it wasn't my career path, but I did eventually end up working for my hometown store back in 2015 and it was a really challenging, but fun three months.

As a merchandiser, I would get to the store before the sun came up, join about 15 other employees for morning calisthenics and coffee; unload box after box of merchandise from the back of a frigid semi and shopped as I stocked shelves. My fellow team members were fun to work with and I even lost some weight; it was great.

Sound like something you'd be interested in? If it is, and you're looking for a job, then I highly suggest you apply with Target.

According to MyStateline.com, they're going on a massive holiday hiring spree, and when I say "massive," I mean they're hiring 100,000 temporary workers to help stock shelves, assist customers and help with online orders.

You can apply online or in the store from October 13th through October 15th.
