Anastasia Allen nominated Melissa, she writes,

This teacher has helped my family throughout our stressful times. My grandpa had a stroke a couple of months ago and she reached out to my sister's teacher for resources to help us throughout our tough journey. She helped us to find ways to get groceries and Christmas presents for our whole family. She even got us laundry soap, which has been hard to get. We thought Christmas was going to be rough since me and my mom have been working to pay off bills and take care of my grandpa throughout his healing process. It has been tough and she has been such a blessing to us and our family. I really appreciate everything she has done for us. My little sister has had such a hard time adjusting to school and now she loves school because of her! I appreciate her so much. She deserves this nomination for all the love she has in her heart.
