Teacher of the Week: Mrs. Hemmerling from Townview Elementary School

Congratulations to our latest teacher of the week, Mrs. Hemmerling from Townview Elementary School in Beloit.

Mrs. Hemmerling scored beautiful flowers from Broadway Florist and delicious cupcakes from Sugar Jones.

The winning nomination came from Natasha Jacobson. Natasha says:

Mrs. Hemmerling is the school nurse at Townview Elementary School. My son has type 1 diabetes and she takes great care of him at school. My son was only diagnosed just over one year ago and Mrs. Hemmerling has helped my family tremendously in caring for his needs at school.

She is an advocate for my child to ensure that he participates in all activities like the other students. Mrs. Hemmerling researches carbohydrate counts in snacks given out in the classroom, helps monitor and control insulin administration throughout the school day and serves on a nurse’s council that advocates for diabetic students in a school setting.

Mrs. Hemmerling goes above and beyond her call of duty to build a safe, trustworthy, and caring relationship with my son and I would love to see MRS. Hemmerling be recognized for this honor.
