Teacher of the Week: Mrs. Shaw from Windsor Elementary

Congratulations to our newest ‘Teacher of the Week,' Mrs. Shaw from Windsor Elementary.

Mrs. Shaw got hooked up with cupcakes from Sugar Jones, flowers from Broadway Florist and $50 in services from Xeno Salon & Spa.

The winning nomination came from Tiffany Wehmeyer who writes:

My daughter Kalista is in 5th grade and 4 years ago we found out she was struggling in school because of ADD and ADHD. School has never come easy for Kali but with the help of medication paired with the perfect teacher it is amazing what can be done!

I just went to my daughters teacher conference today and before I even said hello Mrs. Shaw went on to tell me how kind my daughter is to all of the kids in her class and how Kali is one of the only students who is easily paired and she went on and on about how wonderful my daughter is. Then went on to show me my daughters report card and all of her advances she has made in Reading and math.

My daughter started this school year in below average reading and math and is now almost completely caught up! Mrs. Shaw has came in to class at 730am JUST so her students could get down improper fractions.

She goes above and beyond than what her duties call for and she is happy doing so!

Mrs. Shaw spends extra 1 on 1 time with my daughter and others in reading and in math which is why my daughter is now caught up to the 5th grade level she should be at and all because one teacher cared enough. I hope Mrs. Shaw will receive this award so she knows just how much her extra time and work she puts in is appreciated!
