The ‘Best Sandwich In Illinois’ Isn’t Served In Rockford And We’re Next-Level Irritated

Rockford's a pretty big city, right? Then why isn't this incredible looking sandwich served here?

To be honest, I've never heard of such a thing until yesterday when MSN named the Deluxe Horseshoe Sandwich from D'Arcy's Pint in Springfield, the "Best Sandwich in Illinois."

MSN says the horseshoe sandwich is "a mountain of fries, ground beef, and bacon bits smothered with homemade cheese sauce and served over two thick slices of Texas toast."

The story also goes on to mention the sandwich as being the state's "most iconic food" and "no one does it like D'Arcy's Pint."

Naturally, I was very intrigued, and while my taste buds know no bounds, a trip to Springfield isn't in my near future. However, I'd like to try it here, you know, in Rockford.

One small problem, there isn't a place in town (that I know of) that serves these delicious horseshoe sandwiches.
