The Best Slang Term from Illinois is Apparently Used in Only Two U.S. Cities

When you think of the word "slang" what comes to mind?

Probably words and phrases like "yol," "squad goals," "adulting," "lit," or "on fleek."

If you're a non-millennial, maybe "cool beans," "all that and a bag of chips," and "da bomb" come to mind.

But which one of them is the best, or should I say most popular?

If we're speaking regionally, it's not of those. At least that's according to Buzzfeed who says the "best" slang term from Illinois is "gym shoes."

Really? Can we say boring?

Even more interesting is that there are really two cities in the country that refer to sneakers or tennis shoes as "gym shoes."
