We often let cold weather keep us indoors and we miss some amazing Wintertime beauty. These hikes will remind you of how naturally beautiful this season can be.

You will find beauty beyond your imagination taking any one of these Northern Illinois Winter hikes.

Starved Rock State Park, 2668 East 873 Road, Oglesby, IL.

Seeing bald eagles soar above while hiking Eagle Cliff or Lover's Leap make this hike fabulous. Not to mention a visit to the lodge for something warm to drink.

Matthiessen State Park, IL-178 North Utica, IL.

Iced over streams and waterfalls and this awesome frozen canyon. There's been 5 miles of visible trails for us novice hikers.

Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve, Lamont, IL

To me there is almost nothing more breathtaking then water seemingly frozen in time.
