Kickstarter is awesome. It's one of the best uses of the internet. It provides indie and local authors, artists, musicians, and others many different ways to crowd fund their project.

If you believe in them or what they are trying to make, you should donate. For example, if you pledge $25 to a musician so he or she can make a studio album, and in return for your donation will send you a signed copy of their work.

The more you pledge, the better the reward.

The best way for a little known artist or musician to get their kickstarter off the ground is to provide video explaining what the need your money for and why you should back them. Sometimes celebs turn to Kickstarter to get their project off the ground.

Just like "Scrubs" star Zach Braff did late last year.

Then I saw this. Former mayoral candidate and local Rockford hero Jesus Correa needed funding to publish a book of art and poetry. His video describing the project is the best part. It was also pretty convincing, his kickstarter was fully funded. Congrats!

Careful, its kinda NSFW.
