For the first time, the Food and Drug Administration has given its approval for a cannabis-based medication that will be available in all 50 states. The drug is called 'Epidiolex'.

So, what exactly is that drug going to be prescribed for?  Mystateline details -

Epidiolex is an oral solution officially approved for treating people with two types of epileptic syndromes:

Dravet Syndrome, a rare genetic dysfunction of the brain that begins in the first year of life, and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, a form of epilepsy that usually emerges between ages three and five. Doctors are also allowed to prescribe Epidiolex for other conditions.

The drug is approved to use in anyone above the age of 2.  Mystateline also mentioned -

The average list price of Epidiolex is $32,500 a year, and most insurance plans will cover the drug.

In a world where medical marijuana and CBD products are growing rapidly, this is only the beginning for cannabis-based drugs.  This drug will be available in all states, that means it will be available in places where cannabis is legal and where it isn't.
