Valentine's Day is a little over a week away, and you know you wanted to go to a romantic dinner in Rockford. Where do you go?

I've been all over the Rockford area for dinner and some places are better than others when it comes to romantic settings.

Some for obvious reasons, some not so obvious.

1. Lino's - 5611 E. State

Lino's offer old school Italian food and private booths make for an intimate Valentine's Day dinner.

Plus I love the food. Eggplant parm for the win.

2. Abreo - 515 E. State St.

Abreo is perfect for two or a group of people celebrating Valentine's Day. A small intimate setting located in the heart of Rockford. You can't get more romantic than that.

3. Irish Rose Saloon  - 519 E. State St.

The Irish Rose is another small and cozy place with great lighting that just screams romantic. They also offer a "fresh board" of things the Irish Rose only carries in limited quantities ensure freshness.

4. Franchesco's - 7128 Spring Creek

There are few places that offer small intimate booths (along with big rooms for other parties) with great lighting, an amazing bar and a piano that just begs to be played. Franchesco's is that place.

5. Marc's Fusion Cafe - 4133 Charles St

Speaking of intimate settings, Marc's Fusion is intimate all the time. Regardless of holiday, Marc's Fusion is always packed. I don't think they take reservations so get there early or late if you don't mind waiting. Google reviews say Marc's Fusion offers "the best sushi."
