Tomorrowland (PG)

Britt Robertson receives a mysterious pin that transports her to Tomorrowland, a secret utopia created by the world's greatest minds to work on science advancements. When her pin stops working, she turns to George Clooney, a cynical inventor who becomes her protector when the bad guys show up to keep her from returning to the future. Tim McGraw plays her dad and Hugh Laurie is the villain. It's directed by a guy named Brad Bird, who also directed Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, and the Pixar movies The Incredibles and Ratatouille. He wrote the Tomorrowland screenplay with Lost creator Damon Lindelof.

Poltergeist (PG-13)

Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie Dewitt star in this remake of the 1982 horror classic about a family whose daughter is taken by angry spirits. Kennedi Clements is the little girl who gets sucked into the TV by the poltergeist, and Jared Harris is the supernatural expert they bring in to help get her back. You'd know him as Lane Pryce on Mad Men.
