The Internet Is Saying This Is Rockford’s Most Popular Halloween Costume

I know Halloween is today but the costume parties were this past weekend.

A quick scan of Instagram shows that #RockfordPeaches yields tons of results and tons of people dressing like the team made uber-popular in A League of Their Own.

If you live in Rockford, you know the story of the Rockford Peaches. Even though the story of the team turned into a huge blockbuster flick I forget that people outside of the area still care.

Obviously the story still resonates today, twenty years after release.

Is it popular because things from the '90s are super trendy?  Possibly. I like to believe that the Peaches story is the reason behind the popularity of the costume.

One couple recreated a scene from the movie for the photo-op, while entire families got in the act. Groups of girls dressed as the entire team, and even guys got in on the act.
