The ‘Most Popular Delivery Item’ In Illinois Isn’t Pizza

Back in the day you could only order pizza or Chinese food for delivery, now you can get practically anything.

Eater put together a list of the most popular delivery items by state in the U.S.. The top items for all 50 states were:

• Cinnamon Sticks
• Burgers
• Cheese Curds
• Chicken
• Chinese
• Fries
• Gyros
• Mexican
• Pasta
• Pitas
• Pizza
• Salad
• Seafood
• Sushi

Chicken was called the most popular with 30% of states. Chicken delivery was tops in the south as well as Michigan and Ohio.

The most delivered food in Illinois was Mexican, and was only #1 in one other state in the country, New Jersey.

Wisconsin on the other hand, is on it's own when it comes to most popular delivery item. It was the only state in the country where the most popular delivery food was cheese curds.

Eater compiled the numbers with help from GrubHub and DoorDash to "share data on the most ordered and most popular food items in various locations."
