The Most Popular Fast Food Chain In Illinois Might Confuse You

The most popular fast food in Illinois was recently named and it's not exactly what everyone was expecting.

What's your favorite fast food restaurant in Rockford? McDonald's? Taco Bell? Well, it's Chick-fil-A. Really? They aren't open on Sunday.

That didn't stop Chick-fil-A customers who use FourSquare. That's because Business Insider and the once popular social media platform teamed up to figure out the popularity of each fast food chain based on "checking in."

If you believe the research, Chick-fil-A is the most popular fast food chain in the midwest.

Chick-fil-A was most popular in Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, and Ohio too.

The only holdout was Wisconsin, where Culver's took top honors as the most popular fast food chain.

Makes sense though, Culver's was founded in Wisconsin, but wait, wasn't the first McDonald's in Des Plaines, Illinois?
