Wallethub.com just ranked the 100 biggest cities in the U.S. for vets. Rankings were based on things like job opportunities and VA hospitals.

Freedom is not free. Protecting that right demands hard sacrifices, including the loss of millions of American lives. Here at home, we have a duty to safeguard the rights of our military personnel by providing adequate benefits — such as health care, housing loans and education assistance — upon their safe return from service.

Wallet Hub's 2015's Best and Worst Cities for Veterans list used things like job opportunities, number of homeless veterans, VA hospitals, education opportunities for veterans, and more.

  1. Irvine, California.
  2. Scottsdale, Arizona
  3. Raleigh, North Carolina
  4. Orlando, Florida
  5. Gilbert, Arizona
  6. San Diego, California
  7. El Paso, Texas
  8. Sacramento, California
  9. Austin, Texas
  10. Lubbock, Texas
  11. Bakersfield, CA
  12. Chula Vista, CA
  13. Fort Worth, TX
  14. Reno, NV
  15. Chandler, AZ
  16. Tucson, AZ
  17. Tampa, FL
  18. Laredo, TX
  19. Denver, CO
  20. Madison, WI

The worst city for veterans is Detroit, Michigan. Here are the rest of the bottom 10 cities:

Newark, New Jersey... Hialeah, Florida... Boston... Miami... Fort Wayne, Indiana... North Las Vegas... Memphis, Tennessee... Indianapolis, Indiana and Lexington, Kentucky.
