Do you ever get that feeling that you've been here before?

Just last weekend, my friends and I were carving pumpkins and one of my friends said he felt like he was having a moment of déjà vu.

He may have felt that way, but I can attest to the fact that the five of us had never carved pumpkins together before, so unless he has special magical time warp powers, this never happened before.

We've all had that feeling though, déjà vu. It's kind of awesome, kind of crazy and according to BuzzFeed there is a reason why we experience it.

BuzzFeed got the opportunity to speak with a researcher who specializes in memory studies, who said, "Déjà vu is a subjective experience of familiarity, alongside an objective experience of unfamiliarity."

There are two ideas about why we experience this phenomenon. One is that we are having a super teeny tiny mini seizure. Nothing to freak out about or to call the doctor though, just something going on up there that makes you think... hmm, haven't we been here before?

The other idea is that a part of your brain is interfering with your levels of dopamine. Weird, right?
