Two dogs from the Chicago area will be participating in this year's Puppy Bowl.

After several hours of the "Big Game" coverage on "Super Sunday" sometimes I need a little break.

Many TV stations offer "alternative" programming throughout the day. One of my favorites has to be the "Puppy Bowl."

Since my team isn't playing, I'll definitely check it out. Plus, there's a local connection.

There are two dogs from the Chicago area playing in this year's game.

According to wgntv.com,

"Clover has already been adopted from One Tail at a Time Dog Rescue in Bucktown. She now lives in a suburb and has a big yard."

"Firework is from South Suburban Humane Society in Chicago Heights and is in the process of being adopted by a friend of her foster family."

The Puppy Bowl airs this Sunday at 2pm on Animal Planet.
