You can trash the dress if you want, just try not to die while doing it, OK?

That's what I was thinking while watching the video. Second thing I thought, I don't really understand the "trash the dress" thing.

Why would you destroy a dress that you just spent a grip of money on? Not too mention, you probably had to go to a ton of appointments to make sure that it fit just right.

So this is like a fad, right? I mean, after my wife and I got married, she put her dress in a garment box for safe keeping. I thought that's what you were supposed to do, you know, SAVE IT?!?

Guess not, people are now trashing their dress in some kind of wedding ritual. The Rhodes scholar in the video decided it would be a good idea to jump into a huge body of water while wearing a fabric, that when wet, tends to get very heavy.

The kind of heavy that can take you to the bottom of a body of water. Worse yet, your jump could engulf you in the dress and heaviness of the wet fabric could suffocate you.

I'm not the guy with all the answers, but I think it's a bad idea. If you're considering jumping into a pool of water in order to "trash the dress," hold off.

On the other hand if you bought the dress and the wedding was called off, or just divorced? Go ahead and trash that dress, just stay out of the water.
