[UPDATE] Area students have complete the artistic transformation of Rockford's Jefferson Street Bridge.

WREX.com gives us a first look at the incredible creation HERE.

(7/19/160 Rockford's latest mural project is currently underway downtown. What was recently a white wall near Wyman St., is becoming something entirely different.

The northwest side of the Jefferson Street bridge has been painted metallic gold and filled with several circles, according to wifr.com. It's what is going inside those circles that makes this whole project exciting. A mural project that really has no them like you would typically see.

The Rockford Area Arts Council picked ten different teens for their apprentice program, Artsplace, to fill in those white circles with whatever inspires them.

"A lot of times when you work with a mural, you are told it's a theme, it's, you know, the zoo or something. This way the students and the apprentices and the interns, they can put their own creation into each one of them,” said Concept Developer/Project Coordinator Adriana Villagomez.
