We Could Have a Pumpkin Shortage in Illinois This Year

Just when Pumpkin Spice Lattes started adding real pumpkins, we get a shortage in Illinois.

I remember a pumpkin shortage a few years ago. I was trying to find a can of pumpkin to make my sister a pumpkin pie dessert dip for her birthday and I couldn't find any at the store.

This was well before things were trending on Facebook or I worked for a radio station and knowing things like pumpkin shortages were coming was part of my every day, so I just made her something else.

This time though, I can be prepared and stock up now.

According to a Journal Star article, our super rainy summer will probably result in a less than pumpkin-filled fall for the Libby's company, who is responsible for 8 out of 10 or every can of pumpkin in America.
