New York City, the city that never sleeps! You might know what to do once you get there, but do you know what NOT to do?

Don't Take a Cab (if you can avoid it) You might be inclined to take a cab when you're trying to get around, but if you can figure out a way to ride the Subway, you will save time, money and arguing.

Don't Leave Your Comfortable Shoes At Home I committed this crime once. I wore cute shoes walking around New York. It was a two week recovery. Wear gym shoes.

Don't Buy Broadway Show Tix in Advance (unless you're set on which one you want to see) If you are going to New York solely to see a specific show on Broadway then yes, by all means, get your tickets in advance. But, if you don't have a specific show in mind, then you should wait until the day of to buy the tickets. You. Will. Save. Money.

Don't Forget Your Favorite Comedians Are There Broadway is big in NYC, and there are more than enough music venues to check out, but you know who else is there? Jimmy Fallon! And my pretend boyfriend Seth Meyers. Saturday Night Live is there, too. Check out their websites and visit the studios to see if you can watch a live taping.

Don't Plan on Sleeping Not because you're super awesome. I mean, maybe you are and you're gonna have the time of your life seeing Broadway shows, eating at great restaurants, etc. But really, you shouldn't plan on sleeping when you're in New York because of all the other super awesome people there. New Yorkers talk loud during the day and they talk loud at night, too.

Why am I giving you these tips? Well, because when you go to New York to see Rihanna and Eminem next month, you're also gonna get $500, so you'd be hanging around committing these don'ts if I didn't inform you.
