Has anyone ever asked you what you want for your birthday or Christmas and you said, "oh it doesn't matter, just get me anything", only to be disappointed or completely appalled by what theyended up getting you? You try to play it off like it's cool as you give them that fake grin and say, "hey, it's the thought that counts."
Lies, all lies. My dad always said that it was no one's fault but my own if I didn't get what I wanted for the holidays if I pretended like I'd be cool with anything anyone got me. That's why I always make it a point to tell people exactly what I want.

If you don't tell them, someone else will; like the internet. It's that time of year when websites release their lists and guides for what to get everyone on your list. But what about a guide of things not to get for someone?

This is for those of you who are too afraid to ask people what they want or for those of you who think you know someone so well that you know exactly what to get them because they're a certain age, sex or are from a certain area like Rockford.
