First it was Gordman's, then Toys R Us, and now, it's Bergner's that's closing it's doors for good at the CherryVale Mall.

After being an anchor store for the mall for as long as Rockfordians can remember, the store will begin it's going out of business sales immediately.

According to Eyewitness News the company will continue to operate online, fulfilling current and pending orders as well as take your orders until the company closes permanently.

What now?

The vitality of CherryVale could very well depend on what goes in there next and many employees of the mall hope that it happens fast; but what should it be?

I know they haven't even closed yet, so it feels a little sad and awkward to be talking about what should replace the store that I loved so much for their Goodwill sale, but it has to be discussed eventually, so why not now?

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing the following:

  • Forever 21
  • Nordstrom Rack
  • Dave and Busters
  • Cheesecake Factory
  • Kohls

Your turn.
