The 4th is this Friday and you know what that means? Wonderfully grilled foods! For some, cooking on the grill is a daunting task, but knowing the correct internal temperature for all of the meats may alleviate some of that grill pressure.

Cook it too long and it's dry. Cook it too quickly and it gets burned. Cook it not long enough and it's not done. What are the perfect temperatures for cooking on the grill?

These are minimum temps.

Beef Steaks - 145 degrees

Hamburger patties  - 160 degrees

Chicken (breast, wing, or whole)  - 170 degrees

Bratwurst - 170 degrees

Hot Dogs - 160 degrees (Has anyone actually done this?)

There are many different ways to cook all of the above. For chicken I prefer indirect heat for longer stretches. Same goes for brats and dogs. For beef steaks and hamburgers, I usually go for direct heat for a shorter time.

Happy grilling!
