Wine & Horses, A Perfect Illinois Day Trip

If great wine and horseback riding sound like a magical day to you, this Illinois winery needs to be your next day trip. 

Illinois has some of the most incredible wineries and I think I just found the most unique one. Big Horse Vineyard in Lewiston, Illinois. Not only can you sip on wine of all variety, but you can ride horses too. This winery is about a 3 hour drive south of Rockford, located a bit west of Peoria. They also offer fabulous lunch and dinner items, and even host weddings.

If you're not into riding horses, just take a romantic horse and carriage ride through the grounds. The vineyard also hosts fun events throughout the year such as dinner theaters and live music. Sounds like the perfect place to pop a cork and 'the question' to me.
