Someone once told me that you should always stand up for what you believe in; even if it means standing alone. It probably wasn't an original quote (they more than likely saw it on one of those wooden signs with inspirational quotes you find on the clearance end caps at TJ Maxx) but it stuck with me.

And now that you've read it, I hope it's something that you'll carry with you as well.

Whatever it is that you believe in, choose to stand up for it this weekend and you won't be standing alone. According to the Action Network, there will be a Women's March in Rockford this Saturday, January 21st.

The event will begin at 10 a.m., starting at Lucette Salon & Spa and will end at Emmanuel Episcopal Church at noon.  Their invite says,

Rockford is very diverse. This is an uplifting and empowering event highlighting and bringing to light the diversity of women in our population. All people, whether identifying as female or not, are encouraged to stand together at this event.

The hope is to promote "women's rights, equality and empowerment. Anyone is welcome, this event is not just for women."
