I'm a notorious breakfast skipper so I'm always looking forward to lunch. Lunch is the perfect day breaker upper. It comes right in the middle of your workday and also gives you a great reason to leave the office for a few minutes to go get something to eat.

So why are we wasting our precious time out of the office picking up a salad?

Here are 5 reasons why having a salad for lunch sucks

1. Salad isn't as healthy as everyone says it is.

Sure its loaded with all sorts of greens that are great for you, but what about the salad dressing and croutons and bacon bits and cheese? Perfect example, my favorite salad is an Italian Sausage Salad loaded with (you guessed it) sausage, cheese, egg, and Italian dressing. Sounds healthy!

2. Buying a salad is expensive.

If a salad cost as much as anything on the value menu at your local fast food joint, the obesity epidemic that faces this country would be nonexistent.

3. Having a salad for lunch gives you the wrong idea for the rest of the day.

Salad for lunch? Cool. 4 cupcakes for a snack and 3 slices spaghetti pizza for dinner. Don't forget the chips you need to buy to get you through salad for lunch, which leads me to my next point.

4. Salad doesn't fill you up at all.

I said earlier I skip breakfast almost everyday, so when it comes to lunch I'm pretty hungry and I really want to fill up so I don't go crazy on chips, cookies, or anything I can find when I get home.

5. Nobody wants to see you eat salad (especially while on a date).

I don't make a big mess when I eat. That being said, when it comes to salad there is little you can do about exploding cherry tomatoes or salad dressing that flies off of a piece of lettuce.
