Illinois’ ‘Best Burger’ Is Not In Chicago

Just when you thought you had to drive to Chicago to eat the "best of" anything, think again.

I was really surprised when I saw the MSN list featuring the best places to get a burger in the U.S. thinking it was a restaurant in Chicago.

To my surprise, it wasn't Chicago or even a surround suburb that was mentioned. For my money, it should've been 15th and Chris but that's another story.

MSN said Farren's Pub is the best place for a burger.

With a lengthy beer-list and great burgers, Farren's, in Champaign, is the best place for a burger in IL.

The University of Illinois calls Champaign home, and now it's new claim to fame is "the best burger" in Illinois.

Yelp reviewers say the burgers at Farren's are"massive" and the ambiance is "dive-y." Sounds like my kind of place.

In case you're wondering, a trip to Champaign from Rockford is roughly 2 hours and 45 minutes. That's not too far to drive to try the best burger in Rockford, right?
