Whiskey and bourbon lovers rejoice because there's a festival set for this weekend devoted to the tasty stuff.

If you're a fan or merely interested in whiskey, bourbon and other spirits, I saw this and felt the need to share the news.

It's called the 2nd Annual Bold Spirits Fest of DeKalb County Tasting and it's happening this Saturday, June 1.

Besides the whiskey and bourbon, the event will also feature wine, ale and hard cider. Forge Brewhouse Tap Room, Jonamac Orchard, Prairie State Winery, Waterman Vineyard, & Winery and Whiskey Acres Distilling Company will all be in attendance.

Important to note, if you're going on Saturday to DeKalb for the tasting, be sure to try the Whiskey Acres Bourbon Slush.

Chicago Tribune called it the #1 Bucket List drink to try in Illinois.

Tucked away amid a patchwork of fields sprouting corn, wheat and rye, Whiskey Acres is unique in that it grows the very grains that get harvested, distilled, barreled, bottled and sold — a slew of steps that all unfold on the Walter family farm in northern Illinois. The bourbon that comes out of this seed-to-spirit certified farm distillery goes down especially well in the form of a slush, an icy concoction that can be had at the charming tasting room and cocktail patio open Friday to Sunday, April to November. Tours cost $10 and include a tasting and souvenir shot glass.

Tickets cost $25 online and $30 at the gate and come with 10 tasting passes and a souvenir glass.
