One of the biggest struggles at this point in the COVID-19 pandemic is what to do in the Fall when it comes to students going back to school.

In the past weeks I have been the parent who is 100 percent for the return of in-person learning, ( I feel our kids are just missing too much without it), but now all the uncertainty surrounding this pandemic has me second guessing my parental intuition.

The majority of my brain says my kids need to be in school for the most effective learning, but then I read advice like this from an Infectious Disease Physician named Terrilyne Cole, (who also happens to be an Illinois native), and the reality of what it will take to keep our kids safe seems way too overwhelming.

Don't get me wrong, I will do whatever it takes to keep my children safe and healthy, but how many families will really pull off an intensive routine like that?!?

I'd be lying if I said I'm not getting a little pissed that health experts say we should institute essentially a 19-step daily routine to stop the spread of COVID-19, meanwhile others think the pandemic is just a bunch of political garbage and refuse to error on the side of caution and wear a face mask in public.

Maybe both views are overblown; I really don't know...I'm not here to tell anyone that they are right or wrong. The one thing I do know is, I want this all to go away, and I will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
