Are These The 9 Best Pizza Joints in Wisconsin?

Illinois is for pizza, while Wisconsin is for cheeseburgers, cheese curds, and Bloody Marys. That's not wrong, but a recent survey says that Wisconsin does actually have really good pizza joints, and these 9 are it.

I've lived in Illinois for 30 years. Madison, Wisconsin is my hometown, and I can say that pizza lovers are very blessed in the Rockford, Illinois area where I live. Growing up in Wisconsin, I had only 2 favorite places for pizza, Pizza Pit and Rocky Rococos. When you talk to someone who grew up in Rockford, they'll tell you about 10 great places without having to pause for thought.

I wondered if Wisconsin's reputation for pizza has improved much. Dave Portnoy from Barstool Sports has helped put some pizza places around America on the map with his One Bite Pizza reviews. He's been to Illinois and found a tremendous love for Chicago's deep dish. I thought I'd see if he's been to Wisconsin and what he liked. I was disappointed with his very first review.

His complaint about the first pizza he tried was that it had "too much cheese." Dude, you've clearly forgotten where you are. It's Wisconsin, it's what we do!
